They write, "Some writers advocate the process of recovering denied experiences as a way to begin to develop standpoints. Collins (1991) notes that resistance depends on the oppresseds' ability to share their experiences with each other. When these experiences are articulated, personal experiences are transformed into collective voices that are more prone to stimulate acts of resistance or change."
1. Where is the platform for this to occur? How do we avoid placing the insights of alternative understanding in subordinate journals or culture specific discussions?
2. What can we do as scholars to examine of our own research interest using more of the feminist standpoint lens?
3. Can you think of other topics other than socialization in which feminist standpoint theory could be utilized as an approach to understanding?
