Question for 10-14-10 Jeff Johnson

Taylor (2005) brings up a interesting point about the notion of power in organizational communication. As he states "this perspective reminds us that 'powerful' and 'powerless' are not binary states..." (p. 128). The example of a middle manager experiencing both these states simultaneously is provided and the difficult of creating heroes or villians is discussed. With the recent literature on followership, how do you believe (or do you believe) the concept of power has evolved?
