In the article by Bullis and Stout, the authors talk about organizational socialization from a feminist standpoint. On page 50, they suggest “for various reasons and through various processes, individuals leave organization. This phase, is perhaps, least studied.” Isn’t the exit phase is important because exit can be the result of socialization (i.e. socialization facilitating it)?
Also socializing will be interesting to study across cultures as it will be different in different cultures (vertical individualistic, vertical collectivistic, horizontal individualistic, and horizontal individualistic). In a prior study done I have seen significant differences in information sharing. Also given the feminist view point and that women portray different status in different cultures it makes a viable case that socialization should also be different across cultures. Has any study intensely studied cultural phenomenon of socialization through feminist lens?
