Question - Shipra Gupta

Firestone and Harris (2003) give important insights about sexual harassment in the US military. This article provides insights about relationship between sex and gender thus supporting the discussion which we were having the previous week that if you are a woman and if you want to be in the ingroup then you need to be them. I think besides the internal organization leading to this transformation, external environment or the society also catalyses these job related differences. Like for example military is associated with men, nursing is associated with women (a male nurse also undergoes harassment) which creates harassment that are not only activated internally but are activated externally too.
Further it will be important to explore that given the sexual harassment has doubled in 7 years how does this facilitate within organization conflict which may further decrease the overall performance of the organization?
