Dongjing's Question

Allen’s article offered a black feminist standpoint approach to analyze organizational socialization processes. It is very interesting to me to view organization in a black feminist perspective. She indicated that two board aspects of assimilation: newcomer treatment (how others interact with the newcomer) and newcomer sense making (the way that the newcomer attempts to cope with the challenges that she face). The role-sending and role-taking concepts(Kanz & Kahn, 1978), stereotypes like Token, Matriarch, power struggles, ect. I was touched by the stories in this article and I noticed that this article was published 10 years ago. Has the situation changed for a black women new comer to a certain organization today? And my other concern is--does affirmative action for hiring female faculty with different colors exist in UNL?
