Jessy 12-2

After taking this class I have decided to read everything that Deetz has ever written! I think that his style and insight is just priceless. His article for this week is one of the most persuasive arguments for the constitutive function of communication and the need for additional scholarly focus on participation I have read. I also appreciate his honesty about the politics of pedagogy and his call for communication educators to strive to "make it a good politics" (596). In the spirit of participation and social approaches to communication, which current issues do you feel compelled to improve? And which principles or theories of organizational communication would you find most useful in such endeavors? Is there something else in our "toolbox" besides analysis and criticism?
